Akron City FC Enters Multi-year Partnership with Un1tus Athletic Wear
UN1TUS, a premium athletic wear manufacturer, has partnered with Akron City FC (ACFC) in an exclusive three-year agreement to custom produce the club’s uniforms. UN1TUS will also serve as the club’s merchandiser.
Akron City FC (ACFC) was announced as the newest expansion team in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) on September 16, 2021. Their addition fills a long-standing gap within the league’s footprint as well as in the Akron sports market. According to Dina Case, NPSL Director of Membership Development, “Akron is an exciting market, which we have earmarked for years as an ideal expansion location.” Locally based ACFC advisor and investor, Nick Turchan, fostered the arrangement with Un1tus. “Like so many others in town, I have worked closely with the Un1tus Team on the youth soccer front. We get to see firsthand the many instances of their creative development, as well as their innovative manufacturing process. Not only will Un1tus allow ACFC to produce custom uniforms, but they also run a first-class operation led by individuals who have the same passion as we do, to grow the sport of soccer in our region. What is most exciting, is that through this partnership, we will have the opportunity to create a kit that the soccer fans in Akron will love!”
This announcement also marks the official launch of Akron City FC’s online team store (link to store at end of story). UN1TUS collaborated with Jason Fisher, ACFC’s creative design and marketing consultant, on the initial product line. “We have a very sleek logo that is not only representative of Akron but will appeal to the masses. We feel the product line will be well received by those looking for apparel to wear to our games, but also to those that are looking for a shirt with a cool design to wear every day. Over time we will continue to roll out different products and designs and play on our branding and color themes. We have a few additional alternate logos we think the fans will really love.”
UN1TUS represents a rare manufacturing process in the industry today. All stages of the development and production are completed within the company’s single location in Westlake, Ohio. Tony Dore, UN1TUS’’ Owner, grew up playing soccer in the area, which included a professional stint indoors with the Cleveland Crunch. He knows how passionate the region is about soccer and is excited to be able to work with another high-profile team in the region.
